A review request works best when it is timely, personal and easy to complete. The goal is not to pressure customers or script their opinion—it is to invite honest feedback after good work.
Ask at the right moment
Request a review when the customer is happiest with the result: after the final walkthrough, after resolving the last concern or when they compliment the work. Do not wait several months for the details to fade.
Use a direct Google review link
Send customers to the form where they can leave the review rather than asking them to search for your business. Test the link on a phone and keep it saved in your business settings.

Do not offer rewards for positive reviews
Ask every appropriate customer for honest feedback rather than selecting only people expected to leave five stars. Do not require a positive review, write the review for the customer or offer an incentive tied to its sentiment.
Respond professionally
Thank customers for positive feedback. When a critical review appears, respond calmly, avoid sharing private project details and offer a direct way to resolve the concern. Your response is also written for future customers reading the review.
Make review requests part of project completion
Add the review request to your completed-job checklist. A consistent process produces better results than trying to remember weeks later. Keep the request connected to the customer and record when it was sent.
